Yet Even More 8 a.m. Rejects

These are the rejects - check out my 8 a.m. blog for the picture that I did use!!

Things were quiet in the neighborhood today. Well, the birds were singing, but I couldn't see any to take pictures of. I thought I was going to have to use this Turkey Vulture. I'm not sure if he is partially leucistic, or if he was just low man on the roost last night.
Then I saw Red-bellied Woodpecker and thought he would make a cool bird. I've blogged a lot about woodpeckers in general, but it might make a good fall back picture.
I still laugh when birds look right at the camera.
A nicely posed Mockingbird.
Score! I've haven't blogged about a European Starling before, in fact, it's been years since I've even photographed one. This will totally be my bird of the day unless....
I happen to see an Americal Kestrel who TOTALLY wants his picture taken.
Seriously, this guy just posed and posed and posed. Funny thing is, yesterday when we were out at the preserve, David was driving and I made him stop at every pole, and of the zillions of Kestrels out there, not one would let me take his picture. This one must have been one of those rare Kardashian Kestrels.
